BlockDAG's current promotional page says more than 3.6 million people use the X1 app to mine BDAG daily.
That is an impressive number.
It is also a number that needs a definition.
What counts as a user?
An app download?
A registered account?
A wallet?
A device that opened the application once?
Or a unique person who actively mined during the last 24 hours?
Those are very different metrics.
BlockDAG also displays other large community figures, including hundreds of thousands of holders and a global community spanning more than 130 countries. Large adoption numbers can strengthen a project's credibility because they suggest real-world demand beyond presale fundraising.
That is exactly why the methodology matters.
If 3.6 million represents daily active users, BlockDAG should be able to publish basic analytics supporting the claim without exposing personal information.
Show daily active users.
Show monthly active users.
Show unique devices.
Explain how duplicate accounts and automated activity are removed.
Show retention over time.
Explain whether people using X1 are interacting with mainnet or accumulating an off-chain representation that later becomes claimable.
This is not an unreasonable burden for a project promoting itself as transparent.
BlockDAG's own developer history shows that X1 and miner integration evolved over time. In 2025, releases discussed hardware pairing, security and application development. In December 2025, the project was still planning future X1/X10 feature architecture.
Today, the marketing number is 3.6 million.
Investors deserve to see the bridge between those development stages and the claimed user base.
Why does this matter to someone waiting for money?
Because adoption statistics are often used to justify confidence in the project's future. An investor with an unresolved buyback may be told, directly or indirectly, that the ecosystem is growing and that patience will be rewarded.
But future adoption is not payment.
Even if every one of the 3.6 million users is genuine, that does not alter an existing financial obligation.
The number should stand or fall on its own evidence.
The payment should stand or fall on its own agreement.
Investors should resist allowing one impressive metric to answer an unrelated question.
BlockDAG can have millions of app users and still owe an investor USDT.
It can have a live mainnet and still owe a miner customer hardware.
It can have exchange listings and still need to explain a missed BlockDAG X opening date.
Legitimacy is not one statistic. It is the consistent fulfillment of many obligations.
A transparent user-metrics page would help.
Publish the definitions and update them regularly.
Let outside observers understand exactly what 3.6 million means.
If the number is strong, verification makes it stronger.
If the definition is broader than “daily active users,” change the wording so the public is not left with the wrong impression.
BlockDAG has spent years using scale as part of its success story.
Scale should be measurable.
And investors should never be asked to trade an unresolved obligation for another impressive headline number.
A transparent definition would also stop supporters and critics from arguing past one another. If 3.6 million means registered accounts rather than daily active people, say registered accounts. Accurate terminology is not a weakness; it is how a serious network makes its adoption claims credible.
